What’s the big idea about continuing diving education?

What’s the first class you took to become a scuba diver? Unless you did a  discover-scuba class, you should say Open Water. You did all the fun stuff, putting your gear together for the first time, clearing your mask, swapping regulators. All kinds of fun right? You spent a weekend with your instructor and opened your up a whole new world. Well now what?

Continuing education is what! If you have the itch, scuba diving has the scratch! You like underwater life, you can take ecology or awareness courses to learn about sea life. Then take a photography class so you can commemorate your experiences. Who knows, if you’re on social media, and the right person notices your picture of that seahorse you might be able to turn your hobby into a side business doing underwater photography.

If you think you want to tread down the path of explorers like Jill Heinerth or John Chatterton, you  can take classes like Advanced Nitrox, and Decompression Procedures; and learn about diving deeper and perhaps finding an unknown shipwreck, or some new underwater discovery. Maybe you want to combine adventure, scuba diving, and photography and follow Becky Kagan and explore under the glacier ice while diving!

Scuba diving can take you anywhere you want to go, whether its deep under the ice, or just to take a look at some pretty fish in the shallows at Blue Heron Bridge. Find an instructor you trust, and explore your interests! Remember LiveItLive!
